| It's late night on earth, so late that it can also be considered too early. Liz and Aiden are quietly walking at the street, headed to somewhere in a rush. Liz breaks the silence as they continue walking.
Liz: "What made you change your mind?" Aiden: "When I realized this town needs them, I figured I had to do something." Liz: "It's just weird, given you were the biggest hater of them." Aiden: "Yeah. Let's just say I started to see things differently." Liz: "I'm glad you did." Aiden: "Here we are." Liz: (looks at the house they arrived) "Now we'll see if this trip was worth it." Aiden: "Just don't say a thing, okay? Let me do the talking. It's been a while since you stopped joining council meetings, things are a little different now." Liz nods, and they go up the stairs and knock the door incessantly. After a long while, a man starts walking to the door swearing. But when he opens, he's surprised to see Aiden and Liz. Man: "Sheriff? And ex-sheriff. How convenient!" (Liz rolls her eyes) "What're you doing here at this hour?" Aiden: "We need to talk." Man: (looks at his watch) "Can't this wait till morning?" Aiden: "No mayor, it can't." Upon this mayor invites them in. A while later he walks inside the living room, where Aiden and Liz are sitting on the couch, waiting for him. He's changed his clothes and worn something a little more appropriate. He offers them a drink, which both kindly refuse. So he gets himself a glass and sits on the armchair. Mayor: "Okay, so what is so important that it couldn't wait till morning?" Aiden: "You know something big is happening Jay, and the threat has targeted the entire town." Mayor: "What threat?" Aiden: "I believe the same people who got the missing counselors." Mayor: "I thought we decided they were vampires." Aiden: "We did, but we had no proof." Mayor: "You have now?" Aiden: "No. But I have strong reasons to believe that the vampires are innocent about that." (Mayor looks interested) "I know the real threat, Jay. I have no proof to support it, but believe me, I know." Mayor: "And what is the threat?" Aiden: "The werefoxes." Mayor: (surprised) "I thought werefoxes were trying to kill vampires, why would they be a threat to us?" Aiden: "They only want to kill vampires because the vampires are trying to protect our town and the werefoxes are trying to destroy it." Mayor: "So the vampires are our ally? Since when?" Aiden: "For a long time, actually. We just didn't know." Mayor: "So what do you propose?" Aiden slowly looks at Liz, and she nods to him. Upon this he looks back at mayor.
Back on earth.. Mayor: "Have you two lost your friggin' minds?" Aiden: "I know this sounds insane, but it is the only way to protect our town." Mayor: (angrily) "The Founder's Council is what protects this town from threats, how exactly would dismissing it help protect it?" Aiden: "Because the council only fights against vampires. But now we are facing something much more ferocious! We need vampires!" Mayor: "Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?" Aiden: "Call it a deal with the devil if you like, but this is the only way! We don't know how to fight it, vampires do. We can't fight it, vampires can!" Mayor: "And how exactly do you think the council will react to this? For Christ's sake, Aiden, you're gonna start a riot!" Aiden: "Which is why we have to dismiss it. You know if we force vampires leave town, we are as good as dead." Mayor: "Even if I support you in this, they won't listen. They will bring us down, just like we once did Elizabeth and Carol." Aiden: "This time it'll be different." Mayor: "Why, why would it be different?" Aiden: "Because it says in the book." Mayor: "What book?" Aiden: "In the secret book of the council, Jay; you know what book I'm talking about! In which it says; if the mayor and sheriff decide that the council is no longer doing it's duty, with the approval of one random member, they have the right to..." Mayor: "Oh god!" Aiden: "We will have the right to do this..." Mayor: "Aiden!" Aiden: "...and they will have to obey because it's a rule that's written in the book!" Mayor: "Aiden!" Aiden: "I have Elizabeth, I have me. It only takes your word!" Mayor: "Aiden! You can't possibly be asking me to do this!" Aiden: "You're the mayor, Jay. I can't do this without you!" Mayor: "Then you won't." (gets up) "I won't support you in this." (starts walking away) "You know where the door is." Aiden: "Jay, don't do this!" (stands up rapidly) "Jay don't be an idiot!" (mayor stops) "You know that we have to do this!" Mayor: "No I don't." (turns to Aiden) "And you know what, I actually think you are compelled by them." Aiden: "Right, with all the vervain in the water I'm definitely compelled. Jay, you're not making sense!" Mayor: "You're the one who's asking me to dismiss the council and I'm not making sense?" Aiden: "As the sheriff of Mystic Falls, I have to do whatever it takes to protect it, even if it means I have to work with vampires!" Mayor: "Give me one good reason I should believe you!" Aiden: "The kitsunes have targeted Mystic Falls, and they're planning to wipe it off the map! We have a chance to stop them, but we need vampires!" Mayor: "Why vampires?" Aiden: "The kitsune is able to use magic, which the vampires are impervious to. And they are willing to help us, but the council and it's actions are making it impossible. You said it yourself, they would never stop going after vampires. That is why we have to make them stop. Otherwise we lose the town. (mayor is apparently having a conflict) "Tomorrow night, Jay. Today we make our move, or they leave. It's what they said."
Meanwhile the coaches of Tatia and soldiers are going as fast as possible towards Shi no Shi. Tatia, Damon's shirt in her hands, has her eyes closed and she's chanting something, apparently casting a spell. When she opens her eyes, a man asks if something's wrong. Tatia says they are too late. He is already there. Then asks the coachman how long will it take until they get there. Coachman replies he can't tell because the building is still not in sight. Upon this Tatia sits back with discomfort. One of her men asks if she will warn Misao or Inari with magic. Tatia says she won't. Because Misao trusted her with her mission, and she can't fail her. Another man asks what would Damon's chance be against a building full of kitsune. Tatia says Damon is unpredictable. If he is crazy enough to go to that building, he's prepared for the worst and he will find a way to do what he came for no matter what. Upon this the man asks then what could they possibly do. Tatia says Damon is immune to kitsune magic, but not to her magic. If she finds her, she will take him down. The other man in the coach realizes this is the reason Misao didn't take the shirt. Tatia doesn't say anything, but she apparently just thought of something. It's morning on earth. As Caroline walks inside the witch house, Katherine was going out. However, Caroline carelessly hits Katherine and tells her to watch where she's walking. Before Katherine could say a thing, Tyler, who witnessed it, asks Caroline what is her problem. Annoyed by this question having come from Tyler, she angrily replies saying she is on her period. Then goes away as Katherine and Tyler awkwardly look at each other. Samara's door is knocked. She opens and sees sheriff and mayor, who she doesn't know yet. Aiden: "Hi." (Samara smiles, then immediately touches Aiden's head to see if the spell she cast is there) "Aowww!" Mayor apparently finds this move very strange. Samara: (takes her hand back) "Sorry. You know I have to. Come on in." Aiden: (walks inside, followed by mayor) "June puts me in an invisible prison, you squeeze my head. What am I gonna do with you?" Samara: (smiles) "Wear a name tag that says “I'm not a kitsune”." Aiden: "Very funny!" Samara: "Who's he?" Aiden: "He's the mayor." Samara: (freaks) "Mayor?" Aiden: (smiles) "Yes, mayor, not president, calm down! He's a friend." Mayor: "Call me Jay. You must be Samara." Samara: "I am." Jay: (offers hand) "Pleased to meet you." (they handshake) "I hope you don't mind if I just skip the formalities and get to the topic right away, we're a little short of time." Samara: "Sure not." Jay: "Aiden tells me you could tell me more about the real problem of Mystic Falls." Samara: (to Aiden) "Does he..?" Aiden: "He's a member of the council. He knows every kind of supernatural stuff we've ever experienced." Samara: "I'd be happy to help, except my knowledge about supernatural is not deep. But I know people who could tell you everything better." Aiden: "I know. The thing is, council members tend to not trust vampires. That's why we came to you." Samara: (scoffs) "I guess that's what people say history." Aiden: (confused) "What?" Samara: (looks at mayor with cold eyes) "Caroline told me the council murdered a hundred witches, so why should I trust you?" (upon this an awkward silence hits the room) "Can you guarantee that after I speak I won't end up tied to a stake and burned publicly?" Jay: (breaks the disturbing silence) "I am deeply sorry for what happened back then. It was a terrible mistake, and there is no excuse for it. But we learned our lesson.." Samara: (interrupts) "Did you? Not long ago I remember the same council attacking me and my friends, so pardon me if I'm having trust issues." Jay: (laughs uncomfortably) "What do you want me to say?" Samara: "Might be a good start if you say you'll stop the move against vampires." Aiden: "That's why we're here, Samara. I need you to tell him why we need vampires to save our town." Samara: "The council.." Aiden: (interrupts) "There is no stopping the council. Most of them are fanatics who wouldn't listen and stop at nothing. That's why I involved him. As mayor his role is crucial in my plan, so if we want to make progress, you need to convince him." Upon this Samara looks at mayor, while clearly thinking where to start telling.
Back on earth, there is a tense silence in Samara's living room. Mayor is clearly trying to process the things he heard. Samara: "This is all I know. But you should know there is more to the story. Things happened way before I was involved." Mayor starts breathing uncomfortably. Then slowly looks at Aiden. Jay: "Aiden, if half of this shit is true.." Aiden: "It is, Jay. All of it." Jay: (uncomfortably looks around) "All those curfews, rumors, everything.. I should have.. I should have guessed." Aiden: "I know I should have kept you in the loop, but they made it clear that the less people knows the better. Because.." Jay: (completes the sentence for him) ".. they can read mind. I understand." (looks like his life just turned upside down) "So our brains are just like an open book to them!" (Slowly looks at Samara) "These vampires you're talking about.. Can they really beat them back?" Samara: "I don't know." Jay: "I need a proper answer!" Samara: "I can't guarantee anything, if that's that you're asking. I saw their methods, those creatures are vicious and malevolent. And we already suspect they infiltrated into the council. They want vampires gone, just like the council does. But if you want to save Mystic Falls, vampires are your only chance." Aiden: "And that's why the council must no longer be in action." (Samara points him with her hand, indicating she agrees with him) Jay: "Alright. Call Liz, and everyone else in the council. We're meeting at my place in one hour." (Aiden gets up to make the calls and Jay turns to Samara) "Anything you can tell me about how I can identify them?" Samara: "None. They're perfect copycats." Jay: "There must be a way! A weakness, something!" Samara: "They're alien species. Our rules don't apply for them!" Aiden: "Jay, we gotta go!" Jay: (keeps looking at Samara) "Look, you have to give me something!" Samara: "Alright! Punch them in the face with vampire strength, or imprison them in psychic barriers! Then they will show you their true faces, but unless you can do any of those, all you can do is trust your instincts!" Upon this mayor feels down. Aiden: "Jay!" Jay: "Alright, I'm coming." (gets up and looks at Samara, who got up too) "Thank you." (Samara shakes her head, meaning "you are welcome") "And.. you won't be tied to a stake." Samara smiles to this, and mayor smiles back. Mayor says he guarantees that, and Samara says she's relieved. Then he and sheriff leave.
At the entrance of Shi no Shi, the two guardians are standing like a sculpture. Suddenly something with an incredible speed hits one of them and the guardian becomes dust. The other guardian, startled, looks around with confusion. But before he can do anything, he's hit by an electric bullet and then Damon rushes to rip his heart out. Upon this sudden action outside, the two kitsune rush to get up, only to be dusted by Meredith's wings of destruction instantly. Upon witnessing the capability of her wings, Nathan looks at Meredith with amazement. But Meredith says that was the one shot she had with those wings. Damon says it won't matter. If things go as planned, no action will take place tonight and they will walk out with Elena just like that. Max asks what if it doesn't. Damon looks weirdly and says it won't matter anyway. Nathan scoffs and says he knew he'd say this. Then they hear Ulma's voice inside their heads, telling them everything seems smooth. Upon this Damon tells them to move, and altogether they walk inside. Tatia freaks in her coach and when asked, she replies Damon is moving. He's in the building. Suddenly coachman yells the building is in sight. Tatia looks outside and yells the coachman to ride faster. Damon and others are walking in the hallway as quiet as possible (It is the same hallway Klaus and Bonnie was running with vampire speed). After cautiously walking for a while, Nathan suddenly stops everyone, saying - more like whispering - if they take one more step they will be caught. Upon this Max says that spot must be seen from someplace. Damon looks around curiously, ends up saying it seems safe. Nathan ensures that it's not. Upon this Damon tells him to find where it is seen. Nathan, his eyes closed, says he's working on it. Then he sends his future selves with different angles, but eventually says he couldn't find. Could also be a magical thing, set to go off when someone besides kitsune tries to pass. But whatever it is, there is no passing it. Even with vampire speed, they will always get caught. If they stay and fight, they lose. If they run, the other side of the corridor is full of falling bars. Damon angrily asks what is he trying to say. Nathan says he's trying to say they need to find another way. Meredith hopelessly looks around and says she doesn't think this place has something like a back boor. Max looks at her weirdly, and then says there actually is. Tyler and Katherine arrive to Caroline's house. While walking to it, they see deputies who were told to watch their houses. They were smacked down unconscious and hidden in the bushes. Tyler: (looking at the unconscious deputy) "This would mean she's here." Katherine: "I can't believe you're making me do this." Tyler: "If we will fight side by side, we all need to get along, including you two." Katherine: "What is the point anyway? It's not like we're gonna stay." Tyler: "Keep a little optimism, Katherine." Katherine: "Do you really think the council will ever stop it's eternal mission?" Tyler: "I thought we agreed to wait till night to see what happens. We need to give sheriff time to talk to the council." Katherine: (looks at Tyler, scoffs, then looks at the door) "Fine, whatever. Let's get this over with". They open the door and then walk to Caroline's room, where she is packing her things. Tyler: (with confusion) "What're you doing?" Caroline: (rebuffs) "What does it look like?" Tyler: "It looks like you're packing." Caroline: (turns to Tyler and asks with the coldest voice Tyler ever heard from her) "If you can tell, then why do you ask?" Tyler: (annoyed by this attitude) "What is your problem?" Caroline: (laughs hysterically) "Nothing, I'm perfect. I'm perfectly okay with you offering your body and soul to Klaus and making Bonnie your accomplice.." Tyler: "You know what they say about bridge and water?" Caroline: "Well I can't get over it!" Tyler: "Well you have to, because I had to make a choice to save everyone I love!" Caroline: "But you didn't bother enough to let me know, did you?" Tyler: "Is that what this is all about? You're pissed because you spent some happy moments with Klaus and started to like him?" Caroline: "Great. Awesome! Let's turn this into a pissing contest. Let us find out who screw over the other more!" Katherine: "Why are we here again?" Tyler: (slowly looks at Katherine, and sees what she means) "I don't know." (looks at Caroline) "Maybe we should go." Caroline: "Yeah, you should!" (then Tyler and Katherine start walking away. Caroline runs after them) "Don't ever come back to me, Tyler!" Tyler: (turns to her) "I tried to come back to you, Caroline. But you always shut me down." Caroline: "And when she dumps your pathetic hybrid ass and you decide to crawl right back to me, keep in mind that I will shut you down again!" Tyler: "Trust me, it won't happen." Caroline: "Oh it will. After she's done with you she'll kick your sorry ass. That's what she did to everyone in her life so far. Ask Stefan and Damon. Ask your uncle Mason!" Tyler: "You're crossing the line, Caroline." Caroline: "What, does truth hurt?" Katherine: "You know what, Caroline, I came here to apologize to you, for everything I did." Caroline: "Wow, that's almost very mature of you." Katherine: "But I decided not to." Caroline: "No surprise there. I didn't get any apology." Katherine: (looks at Caroline silently for a moment) "You blame Tyler for having feelings for me, just because I'm your mortal enemy. But no one blames you for having feelings for Klaus, who is everyone's mortal enemy. Isn't that too selfish for someone like you?" Upon this Caroline angrily attacks Katherine with vampire speed. However Katherine simply throws her to the door and she rolls outside the house breaking the door. She attacks again, but Katherine grabs her neck and squeezes it. Caroline cannot breath, and her face starts becoming red. Tyler tries to calm Katherine down, but Katherine smashes Caroline to the wall as hard as she can. The wall breaks, and Caroline falls into the other room with pieces of the wall around her. As she's coughing, Katherine starts walking away and Tyler follows her after looking at Caroline a little while longer. Damon and others are walking in the sewer. Meredith tells Max that she will never forgive him for taking them down here. Max defends himself saying she was the one who asked for a backdoor. Damon tells them to quit bickering. They eventually arrive to a ladder. Nathan sends his future self to see if it leads to the inside of Shi no Shi. Damon says it had better, because his keen smelling ability is killing him in this sewer. Meredith smiles to this. Nathan says this is it, and starts climbing. Damon, relieved, follows him. The others start climbing after them. Tatia and soldiers arrive to Shi no Shi and run inside. Ulma tries to reach out to Damon, but apparently he's out of her reach. Not knowing what to do, she prays for them. Tatia freaks when she sees there is no one guarding the entrance. She understands that they are already in. She and soldiers run through the hallway, until they arrive to the place where Nathan stopped the others. Tatia freaks with the alarm going off, and before she can understand what's happening, they are surrounded by kitsune. However, they recognize Tatia and ask her what she is doing here. Tatia explains the situation, but kitsune ensures her that if they passed this spot they would know. Tatia insists that he must have found a way, because he is in the building right now. The kitsune asks her how does she know. Tatia replies her locator spell says so. Upon this they question why would he be here. Tatia says it's not hard to figure, given the one person he wants to save is kept in here. One of her soldiers asks where are the prisoners kept. Kitsune replies at the cellar in the basement. Upon this Tatia and soldiers run to there, followed by the kitsunes. Bonnie, Elena and Klaus hear noises outside their cells. They first hear the sound of an electrical current, then for a moment the sounds indicate there is a short fight. Klaus suddenly looks weirdly, and says he knows this sound. Then to everyone's surprise, Damon and Meredith show up, followed by two men they don't know. Elena, shocked to see Damon in here, asks what is he doing here. Damon says he's here to save her, and immediately reaches to Elena's cell to try and widen the bars so that she can pass. Suddenly Bonnie yells they have company, and pushes the people on stairs back upstairs. Surprised by this, Klaus asks how did she do that. Elena acts like she's just figuring out, and says the spell that keeps them here must be wearing off. Upon this Klaus rushes to his own bars to try and widen them. Then yells Damon to help him. If they try together they might do it faster. Upon this Elena tells Damon to help Klaus. As he goes to help Klaus, suddenly someone force pushes Bonnie back into her cell, who is revealed to be Tatia once she arrives downstairs. Elena thinks that's Katherine, and is surprised she would be here. But after a long and deep stare, Klaus recognizes her and says this is not Katherine, this is Tatia. Shocked by the revelation, Elena looks at her. Apparently Tatia is shocked too to meet Elena like this and see Klaus here. Suddenly Bonnie gets back up and pushes her to the wall behind her. Klaus yells her not to hurt Tatia. Bonnie says she doesn't have a choice. As the two witches start a power struggle, Max and Nathan are trying to hold Tatia's soldiers at where they are, while Meredith tries to keep the kitsune away by using her wings of protection. Knowing she can't hold them much long, yells Damon to hurry. Damon yells he's trying, but the bullets he takes are weakening him big time. Still, they manage to widen Klaus' bars enough that he can go out. As soon as he leaves the cell, knowing he is no longer under the effect of the spell that suppresses his wolf side, he transforms into the wolf and attacks the kitsune. Tatia, knowing how deadly Klaus can be in his wolf form, yells her men to fallback. Realizing the danger, Tatia and Bonnie stops fighting and watch Klaus slaughter the kitsune. Once he's done, wolf looks at the others intending to attack, but before he can, Bonnie raises him telekinetically and slams to the wall, rendering him unconscious. Tatia yells her not to hurt him. Bonnie yells it's him or them [us]. Damon quickly gets up and tries to widen Elena's bars. As Tatia and Elena look at each other weirdly, Damon manages to open enough space to pull Elena out. He calls her several times, but shocked with the sight of Tatia, she doesn't move. Upon this Damon steps in the cell to grab Elena's hand. Suddenly Nathan yells him to look out, and aims Elena with the electric bullet gun he has. However, Tatia thinks he's aiming to Elena and pushes his gun with her powers. The bullet he fired hits the wall, and before he could reload, the guardian he foresaw shows up. He kicks Damon away, then grabs Elena and teleports somewhere unknown. Damon jumps behind them, but he hits the wall instead. He and Bonnie yell Elena's name, but she was gone. Max yells they have to get out of here. Tatia says they should, because her men would alert the other kitsunes and if they stay here they are doomed. Nathan speaks terrified and says she's right. The kitsune are coming, and there are a lot of them. Apparently he saw the future, in which everyone is caught or killed. Bonnie tells them to run, but Damon says he's not going anywhere without her. Tatia says there is no time. Damon simply tells her to shut up. Then he grabs Bonnie's bars and tries to widen them. The others, including Tatia, help him and in short time, Bonnie is able to walk out. When she does so, she immediately tells Tatia to give her her hand. Tatia is confused, but she eventually does so. As soon as they hold hands, Tatia feels an intense power flowing inside her. Bonnie, apparently feeling the same, focuses on the wall near the stairs until it breaks and creates a debris that prevents from anyone to get in or get out. Meredith looks and says this should hold them. Nathan says it will, but not much long. They need to get the hell out of here now. Upon this Damon quickly grabs the still unconscious wolf Klaus. They all run back to the sewer the rebels came from, and run their ass off. Back in Mystic Falls, many people have gathered at mayor's living room, talking about why would he call everyone so urgently. Apparently no one has a clue. Finally mayor enters, followed by Aiden and Liz. Jay: "Good afternoon everyone. Thank you all for coming in such short notice. We have big stuff to talk about." A councilor: "What is going on?" Aiden: "I'm guessing you all are aware of the town's newest problem." Councilor: "I thought it was vampires. Jay: (fake coughs) "It was vampires. But right now there are much bigger problems than them. The threat is big, and it is so big that it means to wipe Mystic Falls off the map, and it can actually do it." Upon hearing this, people start chattering indistinctly. Another councilor: "What is it?" Aiden: "It's the werefoxes we were told about." Councilor: "What?" (sheriff shakes his head, meaning it is what it is) "This doesn't make sense. We share the same goal with them." Jay: "Which is?" Councilor: "To kill vampires." Mayor: "Well, we still do, but turns out our motives are different than theirs." Another councilor: "What are you talking about?" Aiden: "I know this is not going to be easy for many of you to hear, but I know it for a fact, that the vampires are no longer a threat. I found out that the real murderers of our fellow members are werefoxes, who want to take over of the council and reach their goal with the least interaction possible." Another councilor: "So, who are these werefoxes trying to kill? Vampires, or us?" Aiden: "Both. They want to wipe Mystic Falls off the map." Another councilor: "Why?" Aiden: "I don't know. But I do know that the reason they want to kill vampires is because the vampires are the strongest beings in their way. Vampires want to protect this town from them. This is their home too, and they want to save it." Suddenly a disturbing silence hits the room, until someone starts laughing hysterically. Richard: "I can't believe what I'm just hearing. So what're you gonna suggest now, that we should bury the hatchet and make peace with vampires?" (when the silence of sheriff and mayor indicates that this is it, he gets serious) "A.. Are you that insane?" Aiden: "I told you, this won't be easy to hear." Richard: "Well, that's an understatement!" The others apparently find Richard right. Councilor 1: "Indeed it is!" Councilor 2: "Richard's right, what kind of a suggestion is that!?" Jay: "I was thinking exactly the same, but I was shown the bigger picture and as much weird as it sounds, vampires are our greatest ally right now. They are with us in this. They want to help, and all they want in return is us to stop hunting them." Councilor 3: "They could say that, but they are just trying to take the advantage of the situation. They don't care about this town or.." Liz: (interrupts) "You're wrong!" Richard: "And I was wondering when would mama blond interfere." (Liz looks at him wildly) "Of course you'd side with vampires, your daughter is one." Liz: "You talk a good game Richard, but you would be supporting me now if your son was a vampire too!" Richard: (with a cold voice) "You know nothing about me, Liz! If my son was a vampire, I would drive a stake to his heart without blinking!" Liz: (tries to ignore him) "I've been in touch with vampires for longer than any of you think, and I know that they want to help." Richard: "If anyone buys a word of that shit I say the council is corrupted!" Jay: "Excuse me?" Richard: (boldly) "You heard me Jay! Our families fought with these creatures for generations for a reason, and now you can't possibly be suggesting they were wrong all this time." Jay: (angrily) "I'm not saying they were wrong!" Richard: (speaks to others) "Ladies and gentlemen, if this meeting has proved me anything, it is that our mayor and sheriff are corrupted, and they need to be brought down immediately!" Liz: (whispers to Jay) "Jay, this is getting out of hand!" As Richard continues to speak, the others are support him. Aiden: "Alright Richard, you need to calm your ass down!" Richard: (turns to him) "What did you just say?" Aiden: "I said, you need to calm your ass down!" Richard: (walks closer to him) "Just because you have a fancy badge don't think for a second you have any power on me!" Aiden: "I really don't think you'd wanna find out!" Richard: "Try me!!, sheriff!" Jay: (pushes both backwards) "Okay, you two need to back off." (as the two try to intimidate each other, mayor slowly looks at Richard) "Look, I'm not corrupted, but I'm offering the only way to save our home." Richard: "I don't buy it. Since 1864 our families faced with every kind of supernatural threat. They all had it in them to fight off whatever threat they had to face, just like we do. It is in our blood, and we sure as hell don't need soulless bloodsucker murderers to help us. We can hold our own." After he finishes talking, everyone starts chattering, saying they agree with him. What mayor offers is unacceptable. They should and always have to be there to stop vampires from killing people. Upon seeing their situation is not good, Jay and Aiden look at each other, and Jay starts talking as if he's talking to Aiden. Jay: "Then this leaves me with no other choice. I'm sorry." (Richard looks at him with a weird smile, clearly thinking he's going to relieve sheriff of his duty.) "In response to the newest turn of events, I am taking a radical decision, and I am dismissing the council." Suddenly another deathly silence hits the room. A councilor: "What?" Another councilor: "What does that supposed to mean?" Richard: "You have no right to do that!" Jay: "Oh I have. In the secret book of the council, it says that if the leader of the council decides the council is no longer doing it's duty, with the approval of the sheriff and any member of the council, the mayor is fully authorized to eliminate the council." Richard: "There is no one here that will support you!" Jay: "Doesn't have to. I already have Liz and Sheriff." Richard: (yells) "Liz is not a part of this council since Saltzman revealed she is protecting a vampire. You are the one who outed her!" Jay: "I only said she shouldn't come to the meetings anymore. But Forbes family is one of the founding families and since she's a Forbes, she's a direct member of the council." Richard: "I can't believe you are so corrupted!" Jay: "I am doing whatever it takes to protect this town." Richard: (comes near him) "It could have been me, Jay! I could have been at your place right now." Jay: "Then you would be making the same decisions!" Richard: "Founder's Council is built to protect our people from vampires. If we give them a free pass there will be nothing left to save. Even if you're right, at what cost you are going to save us?" (Jay doesn't reply, and after a disturbing silence Richard continues) "This is my family legacy, and I'm planning to carry it on until my last breath. I see a vampire, I kill a vampire. This is what I do. Dismiss the council all you want. But you can never change who we really are." Jay: (looks at him wildly) "The council is dismissed! If you don't like what we are doing, you are free to leave." Richard: (after they angrily look at each other) "So be it." Then he leaves. Jay: (looks at everyone else) "The same goes to all of you. Unless you want to stay and be a part of the right thing, go home, and don't get in our way!" Upon this people look at each other. Then one by one they leave the place, until there is no one but Liz, Aiden and Jay left. After everyone is gone, they look at each other without knowing what to do, but at least determined.
Klaus opens his eyes in a tent and realizes he is naked. He sees trousers and a shirt apparently left for him, which he quickly puts on. After he's done, he walks out to see others, but to his surprise, Tatia is waiting outside the tent and there is no one else nearby. Though he can hear them, which means they are not far. Tatia gets up when she sees Klaus and slowly walks to him as he stands still. She then holds his cheek softly. Both look at each other for a while, then hug each other with longing. Tatia says she can't believe he's here. Klaus doesn't know what to say, so he remains silent. After a while Tatia steps back, holds his hands, breaths heavily and says she missed him so much. Klaus looks at her with tearful eyes, and asks how can she be still alive, when he saw his mother killing her. Tatia smiles, and says they have a lot to talk about. As they walk through the forest, they talk about pretty much everything. Tatia tells him about Esther's trick when she killed her. She explains the real spell that her necklace holds, and despite she's a ghost, she's just like a human in flesh. Klaus says he doesn't have much to tell her except violence and gore. Tatia smiles and says she doesn't believe that. He's too horny for a man to stay single for 1000 years. Klaus laughs to this, and says there was this one girl, a princess. Tatia jokingly asks if he has a thing for royal ladies. Klaus laughs. Then tells her about his last flame Caroline, which didn't work out because she couldn't get over the first impressions he made. When asked what did he do to her, he replies he killed her best friend Elena and the last two parents she had. Tatia remains silent upon this and tries not to let on, but him saying this just like that apparently upset her. Klaus suddenly realizes his mistake, but Tatia doesn't let him apologize. Klaus says he wants to. Tatia simply says he ripped out his own mother's heart to avenge the woman he loved. If he killed those people, she's sure it's for a good reason but whatever it is, she doesn't want to know. Klaus realizes that Tatia is thinking of him as who he was 1000 years ago, and says he has changed since then. Tatia says everyone has. Klaus says he's not the man she knows anymore. Tatia asks if he's the bad guy everyone tells he is. Klaus doesn't know what to say, so remains silent. Tatia says unless he gives her a reason to, she will always hold on to the man she always loved. She holds his hand and takes it to her heart, telling him to feel it. She tells him to feel the heart that has been beating for him for 1000 years. She was scared and lonely when she got here. She only made it through because she knew he would live. She looks at him tearfully, and says she still loves him the same. And begs him to not give her a reason to change her mind. Klaus looks at her for a while, then hugs her. Caroline walks upstairs and then knocks Samara's door. She has a bag and she seems to be in a hurry. When Samara opens the door, she rushes in without saying a word. Samara looks at the bag and understands she's leaving, so she came for that last blood bag. She runs after her, saying there is something she needs to know if she came here for the blood bag. Caroline, without stopping, asks what is it and walks into the kitchen, only to see Katherine holding the blood bag and Tyler near him. Angrily tells Samara not to bother, as she found out. Samara goes back to close the door. Caroline looks at the two and rhetorically asks how come this didn't surprise her one bit. Tyler says he doesn't know her anymore. Caroline says he will never. Then looks at Katherine and tells her to give the blood bag. Katherine asks why would she do that. Caroline says she's leaving and she's going to need it. Then reaches for it, but Katherine pulls it back, saying they all have been starving for days. This is the last stash they got before having to attack people, and she's not going to just give it to her. Upon this Caroline tries to get it with vampire speed, but Katherine is faster than her and simply pushes her away. She attacks again, and to Katherine's surprise, she manages to trip her up and both fall down. Enraged by this, Katherine quickly gets up and they start fighting violently. In no time they literally turn the kitchen into ground zero. Suddenly Caroline manages to bite Katherine's neck, and Katherine stabs her with a knife she managed to get her hands on. Then throws her out of the kitchen. Meanwhile Tyler runs out and tells Samara stay away from the kitchen or she'll end up dead. Before she can ask why, she sees Caroline flying out of the kitchen and Katherine following her angrily. They fight some more until Samara gets out of the shock and uses pain infliction on both of them. The two start yelling with pain, but Samara is forced to stop when the door is knocked. The two start panting while Samara looks at them angrily, and Tyler goes to open the door. It's Aiden. He walks inside when Tyler invites him, and after seeing what the little fight caused to the living room, he asks if this is a bad time. Samara says not at all. She just found out she needs to move to keep certain vampires out of her place. Offended by this, Caroline angrily gets up and goes to grab her bag. Samara then looks at Aiden and asks why is he here. Aiden says he has some good news. Tyler gets excited and asks what is it. Aiden says they dismissed the council. Katherine, shocked, asks if this is for real. Aiden tells them to get June to read his mind if they want but he's telling the truth. The council refused to help the battle against kitsunes, so he and Jay decided the council should no longer be in action. Caroline says this is some revolution. Aiden says indeed it is. Since the founding of Mystic Falls, for the first time ever there is no secret council, and he's terrified to think how things might turn out. Caroline says he's got a hybrid and half millennium vampire at his disposal, so he shouldn't worry. Surprised by her attitude, he looks at the others to see what's going on. Samara only shakes her head, meaning don't ask. But Aiden still asks Caroline if she's leaving. Caroline turns to look at Samara, and says she's not going to stay where she's not wanted. Heartbroken by this reply, Samara's facial expression changes. Aiden tries to reassure Caroline by saying this is her decision. Then turns to others and says he knows things will not be easy. But now that the council is no more, they need to cooperate fully. They will be the real muscle to fight off the werefoxes, and he and Jay will provide intelligence and blood for them, and weapons, if necessary. As long as they cooperate, he believes they can save Mystic Falls. Suddenly a weird silence hits the room, and Aiden turns around to see Caroline standing behind her. But instead of him, she's looking at Katherine. Caroline: "All these people depend on you, having no clue you will screw them over." Samara: "I think it's enough with the bickering for one day, don't you think Caroline?" Caroline: (doesn't even hear what Samara said) "Tyler is blinded with love, and others have no idea about who you really are. Someone needs to look out for them." Katherine: "Do you really think you can intimidate me?" Caroline: "I think tonight you got an idea or two about what I'm like when I'm angry. You don't wanna mess with me!" Katherine: "And do you have any idea what I'm like when I'm angry? I have 500 years on you. Know your place, Barbie!" As the two look at each other with angry eyes, the others look at each other nervously. There is an incredibly tense silence in the room. |
