|Antonio opened his eyes and looked around. He was still in his room, but the town square was also in front of his eyes in a faded way. He looked around for a while with confusion. Then he realized he was unable to pull his hand. It was connected the infusion stand, but for a split second, it reminded him of how he couldn't move when he faced the phantom. He started panting in fear. Then he looked at his serum. The shape of it reminded him of the phantom's face. He screamed with horror. His father immediately rushed into the room.
Mr. Wilder: "Antonio!" (Antonio was breaking down. He ran to the bed and hugged his son protectively) "It's alright son! It's over, I'm here! I'm here! I won't let anything hurt you!"
Antonio's horror was gone, but he was still panting loudly and rapidly in shock. He held his father's shirt, then hugged him.
Mr. Wilder: (he was caressing Antonio comfortingly) "Shh. It's over. You're safe. You're safe, son." (dropped tears in relief) "You're safe!"
Bonnie: (panting with tiredness) "You know.. it wouldn't hurt either of you if you just.. ran with me."
She drank some water.
Elena: "Nah, I'd much rather sit here and nap."
Caroline: "We don't need sports. Vampire's perk!"
Bonnie: (sat near them) "It's just not fair."
Caroline: "You know I always enjoy your company, but right now I have much more important stuff to work on."
Bonnie: (looked at her weirdly) "Are you seriously working on this day and night?"
Elena: "Come on, how hard can it be? Hanging balloons and decorations, picking songs.."
Caroline: "And that's why you never organize things."
Elena: "Hello? I organized your birthday and if I recall correctly, we had quite a fun time."
Caroline: "Elena honey, it was at a graveyard and you called it a funeral!"
Elena: (smiled) "Touche."
Stephan: "Okay. See ya."
Seeing that he was down, Stefan looked at him weirdly.
Stefan: "What happened?"
Stephan: (exhaled) "They don't wanna come."
At that second Damon walked in too.
Stephan: (looked at Damon quickly, then turned to him and Stefan) "They can't trust the phantom is destroyed."
Damon: "Well, pure bloods destroyed it. They can be sure of that."
Stephan: "Thing is, pure bloods is what they don't trust."
Stefan took the glass of blood from Damon and had a sip. After looking at Stefan weirdly for a quick moment, Damon left the glass to him and walked towards Stephan.
Damon: "Look, they have to come back. We don't know when these foxes will show up, and if David was telling us the truth.."
Stefan: "He was. June confirms."
Damon: ".. we can't fight them back when they show up. We need all the help we can get. And the closest thing we have to help is the other eight half blood angels."
Stephan: "But how they can even help? None of us can use any of our powers."
Damon: "David said something like he would take care of it."
Stephan: "See, I don't find that statement comforting."
Damon: "It's not your call, it's Gary's call."
Stephan: "I'm the second in command, so when he's not present, I get the final say."
Damon: (annoyed) "God I wish I could compel you!"
Stephan rolled his eyes. Damon went back near Stefan and took the glass back from him. Then walked out of the room. After a brief stare, Stefan chuckled barely and went too. Stephan shook his head and smiled with disapproval. Then sat on the couch. He found himself looking at the cushion. On the cushion it was writing "If you can't say anything good about someone, sit right here by me".
Stephan: (chuckled) "Freak!"
Antonio: (looked at the empty glass blankly) "Thanks."
Mr. Wilder: (he was nervously biting his nails) "How do you feel?"
Antonio slowly looked at his father.
Antonio: "How long was I out?"
Mr. Wilder: "Five days."
Then he sat on a chair.
Antonio: (scratched his head) "Wow, that's ..."
Mr. Wilder: "I know. And it gets even longer at this side."
Antonio: "Dad, I.. I.."
Mr. Wilder: "What happened to you out there?"
Antonio opened his mouth to tell him, but he stopped before he even made a sound. Obviously he suddenly realized he couldn't tell him what happened. So he told him the first lie he could think of.
Antonio: "I don't remember."
Mr. Wilder: (nervously) "Well, try."
Antonio: "I am, I.. I just.."
Mr. Wilder: "What were you screaming about when you woke up?"
Antonio: "It.. um, it.. It was nothing."
Mr. Wilder: "Nothing?"
Antonio: "Dad I.. I saw mom. I saw that.. she was dying in the fire. And that was the reason we moved here."
Upon this Mr. Wilder took his hands to his hair, and took a deep breath. He was clearly struggling big time to stay sane.
Mr. Wilder: "There was a curfew that night. And they found you at the town square. What were you doing there, why did you get out of the house?"
Antonio: "I don't know, I.. I saw Bonnie going out. And I thought the curfew was over. So I went after her and.. I guess I got lost at some point."
Mr. Wilder: "You guess?"
Antonio: "I told you, I don't remember!"
Mr. Wilder angrily stood up and paced back and forth inside the room quickly. Then turned to Antonio.
Mr. Wilder: "Do you have any idea what it was like? Watching you in your bed, getting paler day after day? Asking myself every minute if my son was gonna be alright? I was THIS CLOSE TO LOSING MY MIND!!"
Antonio: (his voice cracked) "I'm sorry! Look, you know that I hadn't slept that day. So maybe when I got out, I got delirious and saw things."
Mr. Wilder: "What things?"
Antonio: "I don't know, I can't remember. I wish I could, but that moment is just gone!"
Mr. Wilder: (closed his eyes and took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. Then looked at Antonio spoke with emotion) "You're all I've got, son. If anything happened to you.. I couldn't live with it." (sat on the bed near him and faced him) "So if you're hiding something, don't."
Antonio: (looked numbly for a while, then looked at his father) "I'm not hiding anything."
Mr. Wilder nodded nervously and exhaled with relief. Then held his son's shoulder.
Mr. Wilder: "At least you're fine now." (looked at his son in the eye) "Don't do this again."
Antonio: "I won't. I promise."
Mr. Wilder: (nodded) "I'll leave you to rest for a while."
Then he headed out. Antonio remained in his bed for a while, then laid back. He was breathing heavily, indicating he was still in shock.
June: (when the teacher bent down to hear her question, whispered) "I wasn't here when you taught this."
Teacher: (looked at her) "And?"
June: "I don't know how to solve it."
Teacher: (indifferently) "What do you want me to do?" (June didn't know how to answer) "Go to next question."
Then she stood back up and walked away.
June: "I don't know any of these!"
Teacher: (strictly and annoyingly) "Be quiet!"
June, in shock, put her head in her hands and exhaled nervously. After some time passed, a boy student at the other side of the class raised his head from his paper and looked at a random point numbly. Suddenly he got startled with teacher's voice.
Teacher: "Kevin! Bring your paper."
Kevin: "What? Why?"
Teacher: "You were looking at Michelle's paper."
Kevin: "I w.. I wasn't!"
Teacher: "I saw you looking, bring it." (an indistinct chatter took place in the class) "Silence!" (Kevin, in shock, remained in his seat and looked back at his paper. But teacher yelled) "Kevin! Your paper! Now!"
Kevin got his paper and took it to the teacher. His eyes had watered. Teacher didn't even look at him and took the paper from him and wrote a big zero at the top of it. Kevin, in tears, left the class. Upon seeing him like that, June at first got very sad. But after he got out, she looked at the teacher madly. She looked around with little moves. Then closed her eyes.
Suddenly all students in the class found themselves hearing each other's thoughts. Another random indistinct chatter took place. Teacher looked at the class with annoyance.
Teacher: "Everyone, be quiet!"
A random student's thought echoed in everyone's heads.
Student: "Mushroom head!"
As this could have been a mocking about teacher's hair style, everyone laughed and giggled. Teacher looked at the class angrily.
Teacher: (yelled) "Silence!"
Any other time students would feel discouraged. But now with everyone hearing each other's thoughts, everyone, with mischievous smiles on their faces, started writing answers. Seeing everyone like that, June was forcing herself not to laugh.
Bonnie: "Good thing she's a vampire. That much work on 3 papers would give me months worth of headache."
Elena: "Not to mention the vision disorder."
Bonnie: "Ugh, better kill me!"
Elena: "At least there are contacts."
Bonnie: "You know what they should do? They should do contacts that makes your eyes look like vampires."
Elena: "Like how we look when we're about to feed!"
Elena: "And don't forget the fangs too!"
Bonnie: (chuckled) "Can you imagine how Halloweens would be like?"
Elena: "June wouldn't worry about her Halloween costume ever!"
They both laughed.
Bonnie: "True." (then she got serious) "How is she anyway? After everything."
Elena got serious too.
Elena: "However anyone who just learned that their parents were killed would be. She's wrecked. She misses them a lot, Bonnie, and.. and I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it."
Bonnie: "Do you ever talk about it?"
Elena: "I try. But she always shuts me down. She says she needs to study. I don't know what she's doing in her room, but I know she's crying a lot."
Bonnie: "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Elena: "Not unless you can magically stop all the pain and make everything okay." (suddenly looked at her oddly) "That wasn't me asking for a spell!"
Bonnie looked at Elena with a smile. Elena was smiling too. Suddenly they heard Caroline's voice from behind.
Caroline: "Hey guys!"
They turned and saw Caroline. For some reason she looked excited. At her hand there was her phone.
Elena: "What happened?"
Caroline: "I just got off the phone with Antonio's dad. He's awake!"
Bonnie was surprised in a happy way and randomly looked at Elena.
Elena: (encouragingly) "Go. Go!"
Bonnie smiled happily and looked at Caroline.
Bonnie: "Thank you!"
Caroline smiled too. Then Bonnie started running to change her clothes. Caroline and Elena looked behind her.
Elena: (looked at the clock on the scoreboard) "I should go too. June's exam's about to finish."
She started walking. Only then Caroline noticed the cheerleaders practicing their moves. She stared them for a while, then followed Elena.
Damon: "You know, I'd be okay with anyone else staying other than this creep. Why it had to be this one?"
Stefan: (smiled) "You miss Natalie."
Damon: (looked at Stefan for a while. There was no denying it) "I do. I miss her a lot."
Stefan: "It's kind of funny, seeing you all grown up, in love."
Damon: "You're forgetting I spent the better part of last two years going after your girl?"
Stefan: (pulled air through his teeth) "I thought we agreed to never mention that again."
Damon: "Sorry. Force of habit."
Both looked away with naughty smiles on their faces.
Elena: "What have you been up to?"
June: "Teacher was an ass. Questions alone gave that away. I did what I had to do."
Elena understood she connected everyone's minds to each other. Smiled naughtily.
Elena: (with a jokingly serious tone) "Come here!"
June chuckled. Then they held each other's hands and started walking.
Lyman: "Okay people, let's not push it any harder. We got big game tonight. Be sure to have a good rest until then!"
Indistinct chatters took place and players started taking of their gears and stuff. Realizing the team has called off, Sue let cheerleaders go too. He went near her and they kissed.
Matt: "So what're you gonna do until the game?"
Sue: "I was planning a long, hot and soothing bath."
Matt: "Hmm, sounds nice!"
Sue: (laughed) "You wish, mister. You have big game tonight, and I'm not gonna be the reason you're so tired in the field!" (Matt smiled) "I can take you home, that's all."
Matt: "I'll take what I can!"
They smiled and walked to Sue's car.
Mr. Wilder: "Hi."
Bonnie: "I came as soon as I can. Thanks for calling me!"
Mr. Wilder: "Of course. I know he wants to see you, and you want to see him."
Bonnie couldn't help dropping a few tears in her happiness. Seeing her like that Mr. Wilder laughed and hugged her. She hugged him back.
Bonnie: "How is he?"
Mr. Wilder: "He's getting better." (Bonnie looked at Antonio's door. He caught it and left Bonnie in a sending way) "Go."
Antonio's door is knocked.
Antonio: "Come in." (door opened and as soon as he saw Bonnie, he smiled with happiness) "Bonnie!"
Bonnie: (laughed) "Hey! Thought I'd stop by."
Antonio: "Oh my gosh, I'm so unprepared! How's my hair?"
Bonnie: (closed the door) "It's a perfect ten for me."
Antonio: (smiled) "Way to raise my self esteem!"
Bonnie: "Your dad called me, said you woke up."
Antonio: "I'm really glad you're here. I was just thinking about you."
Bonnie: "What were you thinking?"
Antonio: "Nothing particular. Just you."
Bonnie: "How do you feel?"
Antonio: "I don't know. I guess I'm feeling better. But I don't think I'll ever be okay, until I figure out .." (raised his voice) ".. what the hell happened to me?"
Bonnie: (startled) "What do you mean?"
Antonio: "You know exactly what I mean, Bonnie! That day at the school, you knew something would happen, didn't you? That's why you told me to go home and lock the doors."
Bonnie: "I.. I knew about the.."
Antonio: "The curfew wasn't announced until at least one hour after. So either you were part of it, or somehow you knew!"
Bonnie: "And then there's that night. I knew something was off, because you went out during a curfew. Something weird about this town. Something bizarre is going, isn't it?"
Bonnie: "Look, it's not what it looks like."
Antonio: "Then how is it? Because to me it sure as hell looks like a goddamn dementor that pops out of flickering lights and sucks out your face!" (Bonnie, realizing that he remembers, looked at him in shock) "Yeah, I remember. I remember everything, Bonnie. That weird language you spoke, that mind numbing scream, something about blood and spirits."
Bonnie: (pulled herself together) "Your dad told me you don't remember anything."
Antonio: "Because I lied to him. What was I supposed to say, that this town is full of vengeful ghosts and my girlfriend is in on it? Or part of it?"
Bonnie: (her voice cracked) "I'm not a part of it!"
Antonio: "But you know what's going on. Don't you? Look I know you're different. Lighting candles just by looking at it or using necklaces to contact people, it's not normal people stuff."
Bonnie: "What're you talking about?"
Antonio: "I overheard you and Caroline. She wanted to meet this Tyler guy and then gave you his necklace, this is bizarre."
Bonnie: "Let me explain!"
Antonio: "No, let me. I don't want lies or cover stories or whatever you're preparing to tell me. I want the truth. I always trusted you, now it's time you return that trust. I may be asking a lot, but after that night, I'm in it as much as you are, so I have a right to know." (Bonnie was looking down, clearly struggling big time about telling him or not) "Look, Bonnie. I like you. Maybe more, I don't know. What I do know, we're at the beginning of something beautiful. But we'll never get there, if you're not being honest with me."
Bonnie slowly raised her head and looked at him. Her eyes were watered, but she wasn't crying.
Bonnie: (with a numb voice) "I don't know what you're talking about."
Antonio: (confused) "What?"
Bonnie: "There's nothing weird going on in this town."
Antonio realized where Bonnie is headed and started laughing.
Antonio: "I can't believe this!"
Bonnie: "The night you went out was a very cold night. You must have become hysterical and seen things."
Antonio: "Really? Is that what you've got to say? That I'm insane?" (Bonnie suddenly realized she royally screwed up, but before she could say a thing, Antonio spoke) "Just get out."
Bonnie: (couldn't help a tear drop flow down her cheek) "I'm sorry!"
Antonio: "I don't.. Just get out Bonnie!"
Bonnie sadly nodded, then walked out of his room in tears. After she went, Antonio looked away madly.
Caroline: "I can't believe he remembers everything."
Bonnie: "It was the hardest thing I ever had to go through."
Elena: "So where is he now?"
Bonnie: "Home, I guess. He'd be staying there until he gets better."
Caroline: "What I don't understand is why didn't you just talk to him?"
Bonnie: "And say what? It is not just my secret, guys, it is you, Stefan, Damon, Tyler, and everyone else. I couldn't have made that decision by myself."
Caroline: "Bonnie, do you think I asked anyone's permission before I told Matt that I'm a vampire?"
Bonnie: "And remind me how did that go?"
Elena: "I reckon it was quite like the way I reacted when Stefan told me that he's a vampire."
Caroline: "More or less. But you came around!"
Bonnie: "It was after Damon tore my neck apart and Stefan saved my life."
Caroline: "What I mean is, there was no way we could've known that they would keep our secret. But we chose to trust them, we gave that decision to them."
Bonnie: "Look, I thought about it, what could happen if I told him. That I'm a witch, and my friends are vampires, werewolves, mediums, and .. am I missing any?"
Elena: "Psychics and angels."
Bonnie: "Psychics and angels, and hybrids, and together we're fighting against Japanese werefoxes, which also might be aliens.."
Caroline: (seeing Bonnie's point, smiled ridiculously) "Okay, I know how it sounds like."
Bonnie: "It's pretty bad, Caroline. You don't drop a bombshell like this on someone and expect a sane reaction."
Elena: "Actually the sanest reaction would be an insane reaction .. if that makes any sense."
Caroline: (while looking at her friend, she slowly got serious) "Do you love him?"
Bonnie: "I don't know."
Elena: "You don't know?"
Bonnie: "I'm not sure. I have feelings for him, and I care about him. We're just.." (suddenly stopped, remembering what Antonio said her yesterday) "..We're just at the beginning of something beautiful."
Elena and Caroline looked and smiled at each other.
Caroline: (looked at Bonnie) "You should talk to him."
Bonnie looked at her with a naughty smile.
Elena: "You totally should! And if he doesn't freak out, then maybe we can all together go to Matt's match and see our team kick some asses!"
Caroline: "And if he freaks out, I'll just compel him to forget!"
Bonnie: "You can't. Meredith gave them vervain, they're having it everyday. If we're telling him, there're no way back."
Elena: "I was on vervain when Stefan told me."
Caroline: "So was Matt."
Elena: "Yeah. That's how it works. You can't just half trust him. Question is, do you want him to know?"
Bonnie looked thoughtfully.
Damon: "You know, if you're not planning on going to college, then you're wasting your time with high school."
Elena: "I just don't want to look back centuries later and realize I didn't even graduate high school."
Damon: "Then you should be a lawyer."
Elena: "What makes you say that?"
Damon: "I don't know, I just thought about it. You could compel the judge, the jury, never lose a case, easy money. Just remember my ten percent because this whole thing was my idea."
Elena: "You wish!"
June was smiling ridiculously to their conversation.
Damon: "What're you girls doing here?"
Elena: "Actually I was looking for Stefan."
Damon: "He and Mutt went to the match."
Elena: "One, don't call him that, and two, wow, is he still in the team?"
Damon: "Seems so. I heard coach is making him sit for skipping the practices. Quarterback was asking him to compel the coach if the team was bad." (realized Elena looked away thoughtfully upon this) "Why do you ask him?"
Elena: "Um, maybe because he's my boyfriend?" (Damon made a face indicating they both know that wasn't the reason. Upon this Elena explained) "Bonnie and I have something do to. I was just gonna ask him to look after June until I get back."
June: "I can stay with Damon."
Damon: "Yeah, why don't you ask me?"
Elena: (smiled involuntarily) "No offense Damon, but you're not the type of person I'd let near June."
Damon: "Why not? I like her company, she likes mine."
June: "What's going on, Elena? It's not like I haven't spent time with him before?"
Elena was confused and surprised by this.
Elena: "Well I just though.. Are you guys serious?"
Damon&June: (at the same time) "Yes!"
Damon and June looked at each other with smiles upon saying "yes" at the same time.
Elena: (found this weird, but seemingly agreed and somewhat liked it) "Okay." (looked at Damon) "Just one condition." (Damon looked at her) "You don't drink or feed near her, and when I come back, you're coming with us to Stefan's match."
Damon: (grimaced) "No! I'm not going to some lame football match and scream like an obsessed fangirl."
Elena: (couldn't help smiling with the image, but pulled herself together quickly) "I'm serious. This is Stefan's final match before graduating, and if he's gonna compel himself into the game, we might as well be there to support him."
Damon: "He's a vampire Elena. He doesn't need a morale boost to play better!"
Elena: "It's not for him to play better. It's for you to show him that you're there for him. You're the one thing that kept him going his entire life, Damon. Even when he had nothing to fight for, he came through for you. Not for me, not for anyone, but his brother. We all love him but.. he needs your support more than everyone else." (upon this Damon's looks changed and got deep. Seeing it, Elena started going outside) "Think about it."
Then turned around and went outside.
Bonnie: "If you want them to enter, you have to invite them in."
Antonio: (looked at Caroline and Elena. He was surprised. Then looked back at Bonnie) "What?"
Bonnie: "They can't walk into a private property unless they're invited in."
Antonio: (confused) "I don't understand."
Bonnie: "You wanted to know. We're here to talk."
Antonio: (quickly looked at them again) "Will I be okay?"
Bonnie: "Yes, I promise." (her looks changed suddenly) "If that still means anything to you."
Antonio hesitated for a while. But most likely because he wanted to trust her, he nodded and looked at Elena and Caroline.
Antonio: "Come in." (they went to the living room) "My father won't be at home for the next few hours, so.. we don't have to be cooped up in my room."
Girls took off their coats and put them on a chair nearby.
Bonnie: "You don't seem surprised."
Antonio: "Well I'm familiar with the concept, I just didn't think they really existed."
Elena: "How are you familiar with vampires?"
Antonio: "I'd made a research about them. After I suspected something was going on in this town, turns out Mystic Falls suffered a lot from animal attacks. And there was this website full of people who actually believed that it was vampires. So I looked it up, and saw where the word comes from. Centuries ago, there was this super lunatic serial killer, James Vampeer. He had a special handmade claw, and when he killed his victims, he pierced their necks with that claw to drink their blood, believing that it would actually connect them in some astral plane. The claw typically left two marks on the victim's neck, which seemed like.."
Caroline: "Bite marks!"
Antonio: "Yeah. Then after his death some other killer found the claw and he started to pierce his victims like Vampeer. Rumor says the claw still exists today, and whenever there's a victim found with two holes in their necks, Vampeer family was blamed for it. But according to official records Vampeers died centuries ago. So people started to believe the blood drinking killer was also immortal and had the ability to come back from death. In time the family name became a word that inspired terror, and the idea of vampires as we know them today was born.
Caroline: "That is some story!"
Elena: "If I didn't know the true version I would actually believe it!"
Antonio: "I found many articles on the subject but this one made more sense than the others. But if vampires are really a thing, that changes everything."
Bonnie: "Like what?"
Antonio: "It means the other articles I found could also be true!"
Antonio: "About werewolves and witches."
Caroline and Elena weirdly looked at each other.
Bonnie: (clearly while hoping Antonio can handle it) "They're also real." (Antonio looked at her with confusion and disbelief) "I know because one of my friends is a werewolf, and I'm a witch!"
Antonio: (started to get dizzy) "I.. I need to sit." (Bonnie helped him sit on the armchair, and she pulled a chair to sit near him. After a while, he looked at her) "I always knew you were something extraordinary. I just didn't think this."
Bonnie: "What did you think?"
Antonio: "I thought you had a pyrokinetic ability, and someone else like you might have started the fire that burned down my home."
Bonnie looked at Caroline and Elena. They were upset for him, because they knew what started the fire, but unsure about telling him. Bonnie looked back at Antonio and held his hand.
Bonnie: "Listen to me. The world that you know, has no place for people like us. That is why no one is supposed to know our existence. There is so much history. About me, about this town, about everything else. I want to tell you everything that has been kept secret from the entire world. But you must not tell anyone. If anyone else knows, anyone, that could be the end of us. So I have to ask: Can we trust you?"
Antonio looked at Caroline and Elena. As much as Bonnie was calming, he couldn't help but feel threatened because of the way Caroline and Elena were looking at him.
Antonio: "Do I even have a choice?"
Bonnie: (took a deep breath nervously) "You do. My friends have the ability to make people forget things. So if you say you don't want to know, they can make you forget this conversation ever happened, and we all can go on our lives they way they used to be. But if you want to know, that means you'll be in on secrets that our lives depend on. That's why I must have your word, that we can trust you."
Antonio and Bonnie looked at each other in silence.
Matt: "You're killing me, man!" (Stefan weirdly looked at him) "You're skipping practices and coach doesn't trust you'll do good in the game."
Stefan: (smiled naughtily) "I'll be more careful."
Matt: (smiled) "Well that's the thing, Stefan. You don't have to anymore. We're both graduating so by any chance this is our last match."
Stefan: "Well just sign me when you want me in the game, and I'll make my way in."
Matt: (smiled) "Right!"
Shortly afterwards coach walked in and started telling the tactic for the match.
June: "Elena warned me about this."
Damon: "About what?"
June: "You, free hot dogs, fronts seats."
Damon: "Oh. Well you could've stopped me if you wanted."
June: (looked at him naughtily) "If I wanted!"
Upon this Damon and June smiled mischievously and they both sat to their seats. There were 3 other empty seats, which looked like they spared for Elena, Caroline and Bonnie.
Cheerleader: "Does anyone know where Sue is? We need to get started!"
Indistinct chatters took place, but the general idea was no one had any clue, but this was unusual because she was never late. A little while later players started to show up. Upon this cheerleaders were forced to start without Sue. Matt quickly looked at the cheerleaders to see Sue, but when he couldn't see her, he took a longer and more careful look. But she was not there. Wondering where she might be, he ran to the field with the rest of the team. Opponent team was already in the field. Stefan was benched. As the Timberwolves started running in the field, spectators started cheering. Less than a minute later, the match started. Only then Caroline, Bonnie and Elena arrived. Antonio was with them. Somehow four of them managed to fit into three seats. Elena looked at Damon.
Elena: "Did we miss anything?"
Damon: "Nope, just a boring start."
Antonio quickly and nervously looked at Damon, then whispered something to Bonnie. Bugged by this move, Damon listened to him with his vampire hearing.
Antonio: (to Bonnie's ear) "Is that him?"
Bonnie: "Just don't stare, you'll be fine."
Damon: (suddenly understood) "You told him!?"
Caroline: "We told him."
Damon: (angrily) "Who gave you right to?"
Antonio: (spoke with fear) "Hey hey hey! There's no need for trouble, okay? If you're uncomfortable with me knowing this," (pointed Elena and Caroline) "They can make me forget everything!"
Elena: (with disapproval) "Damon!"
Caroline: "Who is he gonna tell anyway? The council?"
Damon: (struggled with himself for a while, then spoke through his teeth) "Fine! But if he talks to someone it's on you."
Bonnie: "He won't talk. We trust him."
Damon: "I don't."
Bonnie: "Well that's your problem."
When the situation seemed to have calmed, June talked to Damon.
June: "You want me to see if you can trust him?"
Overhearing this, Elena smiled.
Damon: "Nah, it's okay. If he talks I'll just snap his neck."
June: (leaned between Caroline and Elena) "He's okay, he doesn't mean it."
Bonnie: (to Antonio) "That's his sense of humor, you'll get used to it."
Antonio smiled uncomfortably.
Elena: "That's odd."
Caroline suddenly pointed another cop headed near the coach and talking something with him.
Caroline: "Can you hear them?"
Elena focused for a while, but then helplessly looked around.
Elena: "No, there's too much noise."
Antonio: "What's going on?"
Bonnie: "I don't know, but something's wrong."
Suddenly June saw another cop passing near them. She quickly jumped over Damon to touch the cop. Confused by this move, the cop weirdly looked at June for a while, then continued walking.
But that one moment of touch was enough for June to learn what was going on. As she sat back to her seat, the others were looking at her curiously. Her troubled face was almost confirming whey they already understood.
Something bad had happened.
